Actor

Barnaby graduated from Exeter University in 1991 with a degree in Fine Art and French. He subsequently went on to train at the Guildford School Of Acting, where he won the Postgraduate Award for Acting. Since then he has worked in the theatre, on television and on the radio as both an actor and a director.

Theatre includes: The Merry Wives of Windsor (Shakespeare's Globe & UK/US tour), Season’s Greetings (national tour), four seasons of weekly rep at Frinton-on-Sea in Essex (including a stint as artistic director), Hamlet (Brixton Shaw Theatre), Twelfth Night (Globe Theatre Museum), Macbeth (West End & tour), The Amazing Tale Of Good King Wenceslas and Sleigh Rider (both Warwick Arts Centre), Rope (Lilian Baylis), and a Shakespearean hat trick for Eye Theatre – Romeo and Juliet, As You Like It and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. He has also worked on numerous pantomimes, acting in three Cinderellas and three Aladdins, as well as directing and performing in Snow White and Puss In Boots.

Film, television and radio includes: Alfonso Cuarón’s movie Children of Men, the revived series of Doctor Who (as principal Dalek operator from 2005 to present), cITV’s The Giblet Boys, EastEnders, The Why Files, Radio 4’s Dostoevsky, Cultural Baggage for Radio 3 and the 2006/2009 audio series Cyberman and Cyberman 2. He has also directed, written or acted in over fifty of the ongoing series of Doctor Who audio adventures for Big Finish Productions, as well as appearing in the BBCi webcast of Douglas Adams’s Shada.
